This position plays a critical role in JDRF's financial and data management including mail and check processing, donor acknowledgement, data entry, and data integration between fundraising applications, CRM, ERP, and third-party partners. The Specialist will work with an assigned set of Chapters in executing an efficient donations process, helping to ensure a high-quality donor experience. The Specialist will ensure their assigned work is completed within an established set of service-level agreements (SLAs) with our Chapter leadership, National Development leadership, and third-party partners.
This position will work closely with members of the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate coding of revenue and will foster and drive an environment of continuous improvement. The Chapter and National Support Team Specialists will serve as the enterprise Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for coding and processing of all fundraising sources for their assigned Chapters. This position requires outstanding organizational skills, communication skills, customer service skills and business acumen.
This is a remote position but individual selected will be supporting chapters in different time zones.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mail Processing
• Execute mail processes and ensure that processing policies are followed.
• Provide guidance and support to assigned chapters and communicate process improvements to ensure compliance and successful implementation within the chapter.
• Partner with 3rd parties and finance/administration to ensure proper and efficient flow of mail so that donations are received and processed timely.
• Manage non-donation and confidential mail with 3rd party processor; ensure that appropriate parties are notified, and distribution is quick and efficient and handled according to organizational policies.
Donations Processing
• Serve as main point of contact for assigned Chapters and National Office Departments for all revenue coding questions and inquiries.
• For donations received via mail, review scans and code for efficient processing.
• Coding of WPG/MG
• Invoice generation for Chapters, Corporate Giving, Leadership Giving and Major Gifts
• Ensure all checks are properly and accurately deposited.
• Assist donors and chapter staff with offline credit card donations, changes, and refunds.
• Process adjustments and refunds, as needed and in accordance with JDRF Financial policies.
• Code nonstandard donations consistent with revenue coding policy, including electronic funds transfers, donor advised funds, stock gifts, and other nonstandard donations.
• Monitor gift posting to ensure accuracy in CRM, ERP, and fundraising applications correctly; review and reconcile reports.
• Ensure all proper audit procedures are being followed.
• Monitor gift portals, adjustments, and research donations as necessary
• Work with Donor Support team to provide general support for donor inquiries, reporting, and other requests.
• Ensure all chapter financial and data team procedures and business rules are documented and reviewed annually.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years progressive experience in an accounting, finance, or business administration role. Experience in nonprofit organizations preferred.
• College degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience with caging operations preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Experience with Salesforce, Workday/ERP applications, and fundraising applications strongly preferred
• Experience implementing projects that include data and system Integrations
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
• Working knowledge of JDRF financial policies and revenue coding business rules strongly preferred
• Excellent time management skills with ability to handle multiple projects
• Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Pro-active approach focused on problem solving
• Fast learner and able to link diverse sources of information to the business, including ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion
• Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative
• Well-disciplined and a self-starter that is extremely resourceful
Travel Requirements: The Specialist may be required from time to time to travel Chapter locations and/or National headquarters. Travel will be < 5%.
Targeted salary range: $58,000 - $68,000

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
