The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Job Summary:
The Chaplain provides pastoral and Spiritual Care for patients, families and staff. Reports to: Director of Pastoral Services.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree is a requirement. Preference is given to those who hold a graduate theological degree. This person must have some formal training in theology, exegesis, hermeneutics, and other courses similar to those offered in programs of graduate theological education. Some experience as a pastor or other religious leader (priest, rabbi, imam, etc.) is preferred.
Minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
Board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or a cognate group. If not yet certified, meets requirements for certification and is willing to apply for and proceed to certification.
Faith Group Endorsement.
Computer literacy is required.
Experience as a chaplain in hospital setting preferred. Spanish-speaking ability preferred.
Ability to work as a team member and represent the hospital and department as a professional.
Good interpersonal skills communication skills.
Strong ecumenical skills which enable the chaplain to minister to patients, staff and families in an interfaith environment.
