Position Summary
As a Chaplain/Social Services Designee, you will play a pivotal role in providing holistic care and support to the residents and employees. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by addressing the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of residents and employees by ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates religious services or sacraments for the residents and their families through appropriate faith group ministries and facilitates creative and interfaith worship services.
- Provides weekly Sunday worship services in the chapel, health and rehab center, and memory care center, as well as, weekly Bible studies, prayer meetings, and special events or activities.
- Regularly visits residents while arranging time for those in greatest need.
- Provides spiritual counseling and visitation services to residents or staff members who are hospitalized or are in another facility, and who request such services directly or through a referral from the Social Services or nursing departments. The chaplain offers religious and spiritual guidance to residents, families, employees, and administration on individual and group levels. The chaplain establishes a procedure for referrals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers in setting goals for the care of the residents.
- Participates on committees and in conferences with residents to enhance the continuity of their care.
- Participates in corporate committees and helps coordinate or support educational and marketing events as needed.
Qualifications
- An ordained minister or approved chaplain
- Able to minister to audiences with varying physical and mental abilities and differential faith/denomination traditions.
