About the role:
The Hospice Chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients/families/caregivers of Bluegrass Care Navigators, either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors. The hospice chaplain shares the responsibility for other aspects of patient care except where limited by licensure. The flex position will complete home or nursing home visits anywhere in the Bluegrass Care Navigators service regions therefore travel required, including overnight accommodations at times.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree or a similar master’s level degree
- Ordination or equivalent endorsement and in good standing in his/her faith group.
- At least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with a preferred of at least four units.
- Knowledge of process of death, dying and bereavement.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of the interpersonal dynamics involved in working with a interdisciplinary healthcare team. Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of spiritual issues of terminally ill patients and their families.
- Knowledge of differing faith traditions and the ability to work with patients’ families from various faith traditions.
- Skilled public speaker and good community organizational skills.
- Current driver's license and auto liability coverage.
- Negative TB skin test, pre-employment physician’s health clearance.
