Position Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatry Chair for Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) Psychiatry services in MN. In partnership with an administrative and nursing leader, this Chair will have strategic, clinical and operational oversight for MCHS Psychiatry services in MN.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the leadership and management of the practice of MCHS MN Psychiatry, including:
- Work collaboratively with the MCHS MN Psychiatry and Psychology teams to support novel models of patient-centric care in the outpatient, inpatient and addictions service lines.
- Develop team relationships related to the practice, information systems, culture, and markets for Mayo Clinic Health System MN Psychiatry/Psychology sites.
- In coordination with the Regional Medical leadership, lead recruitment efforts for new staff in the department.
- Provide ongoing communication ofinstitutional, system, and departmental divisional practice issues to the staff.
- Track and communicate results/progress toward departmental and regional performance measures and targets (e.g., quality, volumes, access/demand, productivity, credentialing/upgrading staff skills, value-based metrics and financial outcomes).
- Ensure the alignment of critical resources to achieve goals for the department overall
- Collaborate with the RST Department of Psychiatry/Psychology as delegated by the overall MCHS Psychology and Psychiatry Chair.
- Provide leadership to Psychiatry and Psychology colleagues (including development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning activities) while keeping MCHS departmental and MCHS overall leadership informed of the performance of the staff.
Provide oversight of academic and scholarly activities in the Department including those related to research and education.
