Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Farming/Food Processing Industry

Company Overview: Our client, a leading player in the farming and food processing industry based in Visalia, CA, is seeking a dynamic and seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team. With a legacy spanning over five decades, the company has established itself as a key contributor to the agricultural sector, specializing in sustainable farming practices and innovative food processing solutions.

Position Overview: As the CFO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and driving the financial health of our client's operations. This role is specifically tailored for a candidate with a strong background in grower accounting, and a CPA qualification is mandatory. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to the overall strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Leadership:

• Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team, offering insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

• Oversee and enhance grower accounting functions, managing financial transactions related to farming operations and maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborate with the operations team to optimize financial processes related to grower contracts, crop yields, and pricing models.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasting updates.
• Analyze financial data and market trends to inform budgetary decisions and improve cost efficiencies.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
• Mitigate financial risks by implementing effective risk management strategies.

• Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic plan, aligning financial goals with overall business objectives.
• Evaluate potential investment opportunities and partnerships to support growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is mandatory.
• Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role within the agricultural or food processing industry.
• Strong knowledge of grower accounting practices and an understanding of the unique financial challenges in the farming sector.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
