Responsibilities:
Perform testing in an accurate and timely manner according to established policies and performance standards with a knowledge level determined for that testing.
- At least 2 year experience in LCMSMS review and certifying the results.
- Document, organize, and maintain accurate records and storage of samples for easy retrieval. Perform data entry and understand specific specimen preparation procedures
- Perform multiple computer functions, including LIS result review, review of pending test logs, and use of Multi Quant, and Analyst (LCMS Software)
- Maintain, troubleshoot, load and monitor LCMSMS
- Oversee the start-up, calibration, and accuracy of procedures and instrumentation.
- Actively participate in problem-solving activities within the toxicology department, using an advanced level of decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and application of all computer systems used in the department.
- Understand and interpret drug metabolism
- Consolidate and interpret large amounts of analytical data
- Assist in ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements.
- Recognize, ensure validity, and assist in monitoring abnormal patient and/or QC results of testing; ensure accuracy of test results.
- Actively training department employees; assist in new employee orientation, training, and competency; provide input for competency and annual assessments for employees in appropriate time frames.
- Flexible in the schedule and willing to learn outside the regular job duties.
- Ability to lift 20 – 30 lbs.
Job Requirements
· Bachelors in Forensic Science, Clinical Chemistry, or toxicology from an accredited institution preferred.
· Well organized and detail oriented; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines
