Job Description
JOB SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Be an active participant in the company's Behavior Based Safety Process.
- This person is a multi-skilled Equipment Operator who has the abilities to and is fully skilled and qualified to operate (at various times on an as needed basis) either a continuous miner, roof bolter, shuttle car, or scoop in a safe, productive and efficient manner. Must be proficient during a production shift in at least 3 of the aforementioned pieces of face equipment.
- Additionally, this person may be required to perform non-Equipment Operator tasks and duties such as shoveling, building/maintaining ventilation controls, assisting in various maintenance and repair duties on mine equipment and other manual related tasks and duties as needed.
- Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining regulations and Company policies, procedures, and rules.
- The employee must be able to follow specific instructions while maintaining acceptable established standards of work performance and conduct, show the necessary and consistent energy, as well as acceptable mental and physical dexterity, for the satisfactory completion of the essential duties as summarized and defined.
- The employee must exhibit acceptable interpersonal skills and the continuous ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Most possess a West Virginia Underground Coal Miner Certification.
- At a minimum, must be proficient in 3 pieces of underground face equipment (see above)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
