Certified Special Education Teacher - AZACS Online
Although this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Arizona and be able to come onsite to our Phoenix Online School Office two times per month for meetings and professional development.
Arizona's first and only autism-focused charter school is expanding and seeking a highly-skilled Special Education Teacher to serve as an Online IEP Case Manager, overseeing the case management, accommodations and modifications for the students enrolled in the AZACS Online Schools and the AZACS Hybrid program.
Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Director Online Programming and Partnerships; the Special Education Online Teacher will support the students enrolled in the online school with case management. Some travel within Arizona may be required.
Candidates must be experienced in the correct design, implementation and oversight of research based educational strategies for students with disabilities, and have significant experience conducting these activities within an online school setting. The SPED Online Teacher will work hand-in-hand with the Learning Success Coach to promote a positive school culture that focuses on implementing a best practices education model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum.
Duties:
- IEP Service coordinator
- Manage educational programming for students enrolled in the Online School that are highly impacted by their disabilities
- Parent communication on a weekly basis
- Maintains knowledge of Special Education teaching methods, research, and best practices through professional development and study.
- Knowledge of the online programming including curriculum, instruction and assessment
- Oversight and implementation of the accommodations and modifications to the adopted curriculum
- Teach an online course/elective
- Staff communication/feedback
- Collaboration with ABA Managers for behavior and/or data analysis
- Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member
- Collect, analyze, and report data in a meaningful manner
- Celebrates the achievements and successes of students
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
- 3 - 5 years teaching Special Education
- 3 - 5 years online teaching experience
- Valid Special Education Arizona Teaching Certification required**
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) preferred
- Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Must be an Arizona resident
