SECURITY GUARD CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: DDCues Guards must meet and maintain all NY State Level 1 Security Guard requirements, must have a valid Guards License on their person while working, and have a copy of their current NY Department of State Photo ID card and Certification of Compliance on file with DDCues.

Guards must have a minimum of six (6) months experience, a High School Diploma or GED, be 18 years of age, speak, read, and write in English, with the ability to communicate with visitors and to prepare incident reports as needed. Guards must also have the physical capabilities to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule: Full and Part-Time Positions

Hourly Pay Rates: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and knowledge

Responsibilities: DDCues Guards will perform their duties in a professional and consistent manner by adhering to the General Instructions (GI) and Post Orders (PO).

Shift Coverage: The work schedule consists of one (1) Guard, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day coverage, including holidays. Guards are required to have an operational cell phone, and a valid Driver’s License.

Primary Objective: Guards are assigned to observe and report to DDCues management all occurrences that may arise during their assigned shift of duty. Protect offices, buildings, and grounds against potential incidents which may include but is not limited to fire, disruptive activity, violent storm, vandalism, theft, loitering, trespass, burglaries, unlawful entry, bodily harm, building system malfunctions, and deficiencies, etc. Logbook notations are to be made minimally noting times on and off duty, shift change briefings when rounds are conducted and any observation, documenting any issues. Review the logbook for issues that may have occurred on a previous shift and may require actions. Monitor all entrances and grounds and maintain constant vigilance to ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and client property.

Shift Tours/Inspections: Guards will tour designated areas inside all buildings at a minimum of twice per shift; perimeter rounds are required every 30 minutes. shift inspections are to be made to note any evidence of unauthorized or attempted unauthorized entrance, such as but not limited to, broken or damaged windows, doors, or locks. DDCues Guards will maintain a professional demeanor, enforce and adhere to DDCues Security and Clients' policies and procedures, promote outstanding customer service relations, and maintain the ability to consistently report to work on time and during various weather conditions. DDCues Security Guard – General Instructions (GI)

DDCues Guards will perform their duties in a professional and consistent manner by adhering to the following General instructions and any applicable Post Orders. Questions and concerns are to be brought to the immediate attention of DDCues Management.

DDCues Security Details consist of one or more Armed and/or Unarmed Guard, dressed in an easily recognizable uniform, at the direction of DDCues management and by the requirements prescribed by the State in which they are performing security duties. Uniforms are designed to provide a “Command Presence” intended to discourage illicit behaviors.

Guards will only be dressed in uniforms and equipped with gear approved by DDCues management. At no time will Guards be equipped with sidearms, restraints (flexicuffs/handcuffs), tasers, batons, or sprays (OC Pepper / Mace) without certified training and the written authorization of both the DDCues management. Guards will possess on their person (openly displayed if mandated by their State), their legal and valid certification and license and remain in full uniform at all times while on duty.

Upon arrival, Guards will utilize the DDCues ADP Payroll System (APP) to sign in to work and make all start-of-shift notifications as directed by DDCues and Client management. When reporting in, Guards will provide their name, location, and shift hours, repeating the process at the end of their shift. Guards will also make in-person contact with the Client (or designate) prior to initiating security duties. Periodic status checks will be made at the discretion of DDCues management (or designate). Guards will make themselves available to communicate with the Client (or designee) at all times while on duty and are required to maintain a position of high visibility and demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Guards will remain alert, vigilant, and prepared to respond to any occurrence that may arise.

Guards are directed to “Observe & Report” utilizing verbal instructions when attempting to correct poor behaviors or illegal conduct. Guards are not authorized to make any form of physical contact unless the “Use of Force” is warranted per the legal authority granted to private citizens of the State in which they are currently trained and certified to perform Armed and/or Unarmed Security Guard Services. Guards may only act on occurrences witnessed in their presence for theft of property, services, or disorderly conduct or behavior at their assigned location. If an individual chooses not to follow the Guard's verbal instructions, Guards will not detain or delay a person’s movements or departure.

Guards are not permitted to depart or chase after any person(s) outside their assigned location. If individuals decide to depart, the Guard will gather and report as many details as possible from within their assigned location. Items will include a description of the person, behavior, conduct, item believed to have been stolen, vehicle, and/or the direction of travel, and any other relevant information. When events occur that require Guards to take action(s) to control the situation, immediate notifications (when safe to do so) will be made to DDCues management to assess and report the event. Guards are authorized and encouraged to notify local law enforcement (call 911) to request immediate assistance at their location.

When incidents do arise, Guards must make every effort to inform the Client of the incident as it develops or as soon as it is safe to do so. Guards will report & document all incidents that occur, providing a statement of events via email to DDCues management prior to the conclusion of their shift. Guards will assist the Client with individuals that become abusive, vulgar, belligerent, disruptive, or interfere with the Client's operations. If warranted, a local law enforcement agency will be called if the client desires a police report for a criminal incident occurring on the property.

Guards will not depart their assigned post location without being properly relieved or without prior notification and authorization of DDCues management and the on-location Client representative.
