This job posting is for an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. This position will be a Part-Time position in connection with current anesthesia provider or the ability to take over every Monday and Thursday.
Premier Vascular Center is looking for a qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide conscious sedation for our vascular surgery patients in coordination with the surgeon.
Job Summary
- Administers anesthetics, with consultation of provider, to reduce pain during surgical and other medical procedures.
General Accountabilities
- Examines patient preoperatively to determine degree of surgical risk, and type of anesthetic and to administer.
- Assures all equipment is functioning before use and follows manufactures guidelines.
- Verifies the operative procedure using the consent form, patient statement, and if needed surgeon verification prior to the procedure.
- Positions patient on operating table and administers conscious sedation (moderate sedation) to prescribed medical standards under the direction of the provider.
- Continuously evaluates the patient’s needs, plan of care and nursing actions, adjusting the plans as required to provide optimal patient outcomes.
- Records type and amount of anesthetic administered and condition of patient before, during, and after anesthesia.
- Monitors and records physiologic measurements included but not limited to:
- Respiratory rate
- Oxygen saturation
- Blood pressure
- Cardiac rate and rhythm
- Patient’s level of consciousness
- Understand the principles of oxygen delivery, respiratory physiology, transport, and uptake, and demonstrate the ability to use oxygen delivery devices.
- Institutes corrective measures to counteract adverse reactions or complications.
- Anticipates and recognizes potential complications of moderate sedation in relation to the type of medication being administered.
- Demonstrate skill in airway management resuscitation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the legal ramifications or administering moderate sedation and/or monitoring patients receiving moderate sedation, including the nurse’s responsibility and liability in the event of an untoward reaction or life-threatening complication.
- Assesses patients after their surgical procedure with administration of conscious sedation to recovery and provides all appropriate care.

Job Qualifications
- Education:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program. (Required)
- Graduation from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia. (Required)
- Experience:
- Five+ years procedural/surgical setting experience. (Required)
- Current Maryland state CRNA license. (Required)
- Current Maryland state RN license. (Required)
