Schedule: Monday-Sunday,
8-Hour Tour:* Day* 6:45 a.m. -3:15 p.m., Evening 11:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Night 11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
10-Hour Tour:Day 6:45 a.m. -5:15 p.m., Evening 11:00 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Night 12:30 am -11:00 p.m.
12-Hour Tour: Day 6:45 a.m. -7:15 p.m., Night 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
Certification: Must have a current and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
Medical Degree in Nurse Anesthesia approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetics (AANA)
Preferred Board Certified - Certified by The Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetics (CCNA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.

Pay Rate: $205,000 to $210,000.00 annually (Negotiable based upon Experience, Certifications &

CRNA (Board Certified) Summary:
We seek a highly skilled, experienced CRNA to provide a complete range of anesthesia care for a diverse veteran population, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthetic administration and monitoring, and post-anesthesia care, in compliance with national standards JCAHO. You will be accountable to the Chief CRNA or delegate to provide the most effective delivery of quality anesthetic care for a diverse veteran population and the broad range of situations throughout the Medical Center while meeting and exceeding compliance standards. You will be a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire staff.
Physician Anesthesiologist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to prepare the anesthesia plan, delivering all forms of anesthesia, providing intra and postoperative patient care, providing emergency airway and resuscitation management throughout the facility, and establishing effective working relationships with all levels of staff throughout the MEDVAMC.
- Maintain patient/resident confidentiality and a safe patient care environment.
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to prepare the anesthesia plan, deliver all forms of anesthesia, and provide intra and postoperative anesthesia care to patients.
- As part of the "Code Blue" team, provide emergency airway and resuscitation management throughout the facility and establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff throughout the medevac.
- Translate the principles of anesthesia practice into appropriate patient care.
- Perform the pre-anesthetic patient history and physical, including collecting preoperative consults and data.
- Perform a patient evaluation and examination from which an appropriate anesthetic plan is formulated.
- Communicate the anesthetic risk comma, benefits comma, and alternatives to the patient period.
- Prepare the patient's operating room and/or procedural area for anesthesia administration.
- Administer inhalation, regional, intravenous, local, and Oregon topical anesthetics with continuous evaluations of the patient's physical status and response to anesthesia.
- Performs post-anesthetic management of patients to optimize the recovery from anesthesia and minimize pain.
- Ensures timely and accurate anesthetic record charting and anesthesia service documentation.
- Provide patient care abreast of changing concepts and advancements in the profession while working effectively in an intra-interdisciplinary environment to improve services and patient care.
- Practice with colleagues and peers utilizing a collaborative team concept of anesthesia care while demonstrating effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperative and interdisciplinary teamwork. This includes guiding and training doctoral-level anesthesia students and medical students from Baylor College of Medicine and UT Health Science Center Houston.
- Demonstrates skills in conducting and managing anesthesia for a broad range of surgical procedures and the ability to adapt and modify anesthesia techniques to optimize patient care.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform anesthesia care's clinical and technical aspects and have knowledge of anesthesia methods and techniques.
- Effectively blend technology, sills, and competency to advance anesthesia techniques, pharmacology, and equipment.
- Applies new developments and theories to recognize and solve various complex anesthesia situations.
- Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids and medications, and using appropriate resuscitation procedures for patient care.
- Collect and document pertinent data into the electronic patient medical records systems.
CRNA Requirements and Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD) from an accredited university
- Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthesia Anesthetics (CNNA) in good standing
- State medical license, valid and in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing
- Impeccable work history, exemplifying excellence in the field
- Commitment to continued study, keeping up to date on the latest research
- Willingness to continue to develop and hone skills in keeping with the latest techniques
- Cognizant of patient confidentiality and compliance with all legal requirements
- Willingness to train and mentor junior staff
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Must pass or have Current Health examinations and evidence including:
a. Evidence of a current physical examination (within one year)
b. Evidence of Hepatitis B immunity (hepatitis immune titer, if provider has had the series of shots; if no immunity, evidence that provider has started the Hepatitis B vaccination series.) c. c. Evidence of a current TB Skin Test and recent (within the last year) chest X-ray if there is a history of positive TB skin test
d. Evidence of history of chicken pox, varicella vaccine, or a positive immune status for Varicella.
