Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient coding of medical records and billing processes. Your expertise in CPT, ICD-10 coding and medical office systems will be essential in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Duties:
- Assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes to medical diagnoses and procedures
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy
- Ensure proper documentation of patient encounters
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any coding-related questions or discrepancies
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations
- Assist with medical billing processes, including claim submission and follow-up
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with coding standards and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Coding Specialist or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles and guidelines
- Familiarity with medical office systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficient in using coding software and tools
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and team members

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with EHR systems
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding system
- Familiarity with medical collection processes
