Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to became a part of our team! You will assist in the preparation of medications under the direction of a pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing unit dose or pre-packaged medications
- Measure dosage of medications, according to prescription orders
- Monitor and fill Directly Observed Therapy/Restricted Medication cards for inmates
- Assist the Pharmacist with the organizing and filing of forms, reports, and relevant documents as needed as well as scanning the aforementioned documents into the pharmacy or patient records.
- Maintain the narcotics count and the needle and syringe inventories to include the pre-packing and counting of needles and syringes for sub-stock use as directed by the Chief Pharmacist or his designee
- Assist pharmacists in ordering, stocking, storing, medications as well as dispensing of prescription and non- prescription medications while demonstrating knowledge of the budgetary guidelines and BOP Formulary constraints.
- Assist pharmacists in maintaining stock (e.g., checking for outdates per policy) in the main pharmacy and all satellite areas to include but not limited to the Federal Prison Camp, crash carts, emergency bags and Automated Dispensing Systems
- Maintain and stock adequate supplies for the "Night Stock" cabinet, and perform audits of the "Night Stock" and Automated Dispensing System
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pharmacy or other related fields
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills pertaining to pharmacy issues to include the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
