We’re looking for you.  

The staff Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant functions under the direct supervision of the therapist responsible for a specific patient’s care. The staff Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assumes responsibility and accountability for providing Occupational Therapy modalities and treatment procedures as determined by a treatment plan established by an Occupational Therapist and in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.   

• Provides Occupational Therapy care as per physician’s orders and plan of care developed by evaluating therapist.
• Takes measurement of patient’s status, within the limits of his/her licensure and ability, as appropriate in providing care and to assist it assessing the effectiveness of care.
• Maintains communication and collaborates with the evaluating occupational therapist to promote maximum benefits from therapy.
• Implements education plan as outlined by the evaluating therapist, determines additional educational needs of the patient/family, caregiver, or significant other as they arise and in collaborating with the evaluating therapist, provides education to meet those needs.
• Follow plan of discharge and discusses with evaluating therapist any additional discharge concerns, which arise during care.
• Communicates with patient, family caregivers, significant others and members of the health care team to promote max benefit of care.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications  

Required:  

• Associate's Degree from accredited OTA program.
• Current license through Kansas State Board Healing Arts.
• BLS Certificate.
