We have future opportunities for Certified Nursing Assistants/ Registered Medical Assistants.
General Summary: Provides nursing care and performs nursing procedures under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse and a Physician. Responsible for interacting with wound care and hyperbaric medicine patients and performing related tasks and procedures as assigned. This is a non-exempt position.
I. Primary Responsibilities
- Complies with private practice and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities.
- Supports the goals and objectives of the outpatient wound care centers.
- Provides specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
- Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. RN, physician, clinical coordinator or other provider) and records those observations accurately and concisely.
- Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing patient care.
- Administers medications and performs treatments to assigned patients within the Center.
- Assist physicians with tests and procedures as requested.
- Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Helps coordinate nursing care of patient scheduled for therapy or procedures in other departments.
- Establishes and maintains communications and utilizes teaching opportunities with patients and other significant individuals.
II. Additional Responsibilities
- Participates in Center Performance Improvement.
- Attends mandatory organizational education.
- Attends Center meetings per standard.
III. Customer Service
- Maintains the highest level of customer service via courtesy, compassion and positive communication.
- Promotes the Mission and Vision of Hill Country Wound Care Vascular and Hyperbarics within the work environment and community.
- Respects dignity and confidentiality by adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
IV. Health and Safety
- Works in a manner that promotes safety; wears clothing appropriate to the performance of the job.
- Participates in OSHA required training.
- Follows universal precautions as appropriate for position; complies with Employee Health requirements for continued employment.
- Reports unsafe practices to management.
- Knows own role in case of an emergency.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training: Provides documents or credentials of graduation from a Certified Nursing Assistant /Medical Assistant (MA) school for the state in which the employee is working. Has current CPR certification and maintains same.
Experience: Must possess CHT or complete 40 hour UHMS approved Introductory Hyperbaric Medicine course and obtain CHT within one year of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess good verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
- Performs moderate physical work exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds of force on an occasional basis, performing such activities as fingering, grasping, carrying, lifting, holding, reaching, opening, pulling, pushing, speaking, hearing, walking, and writing.
- Performs the described duties through the use of appropriate equipment.

ORGANIZATIONAL DATA: This is a nonexempt position, supervised by the Program Director. No formal line(s) of promotion exists.
Company IntroductionHill Country Wound Care Vascular and Hyperbarics, LLC operates multiple physician-based wound centers in the Greater San Antonio area. Our newest location in Bulverde, TX will help local patients heal their chronic wounds with various modalities, including the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. We also are a wound management company, with desire to build relationships with other well trained wound care doctors and clinicians in establishing new wound centers within the 50 states. The management company brings both ownership, buildout, credentialing, billing, payroll and operational support to those physicians and communities we serve.
