Job description

Under the supervision of the Resource Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II, Correctional Facility (CF), and the delegation and clinical direction of the Resource Registered Nurse (RN), CF and other members of the licensed nursing team, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), CF performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional health care activities for patients in a variety of treatment facilities and health care settings in support of the Whole Person Care Program (WPCP) and Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT) program. As directed and in collaboration with the WPCP ISUDT nursing care team, the CNA, CF is primarily responsible for facilitating telehealth appointments for Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Addiction Medical Central Team (AMCT) and performing basic nursing care procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid Nursing Assistant Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health. All employees must have general qualifications as described by California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 172.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

  • This Recruitment is for Limited Intermittent Employee (L.I.E.)
  • This position will be limited to 1500 hours per calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) and will be used on an on-call, as-needed basis with no guarantee of hours or a certain shift.
  • Intermittent time base is Positive Pay. Payroll for Positive Pay employees is issued from attendance reports after close of the pay period and is paid by the 15th of the following month.
  • LTINP staff are not eligible for health benefits, regardless of their hours of work (Per PML 2013-030)
  • This recruitment may be used to fill fractional intermittent positions with less than 1500 hrs.
