Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will perform various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients under the direction and guidance of professional nursing personnel. Serves as an active member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team.
Responsibilities:
- Provides bathing and personal care to Hospice patients such as bed baths, showers, mouth care, skin care, hair care and shaving.
- Assists with ambulating, transferring, turning, positioning, and prescribed exercises.
- Takes patient’s vital signs as instructed by an RN and teaches techniques to family when the need is indicated.
- Monitors oxygen flow rate and changes oxygen tubing canula and nasal canula.
- Serves as active member of the Interdisciplinary Team through participation in team conference and planning and by observing and reporting changes in the patient’s condition or family situation.
- Completes all required documentation and reports verbally to the on-duty RN.
- Participates in performance improvement activities as requested.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the PCD.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Certified CNA training.
- NC Board of Nursing Central Registry.
- One to two years’ experience with current knowledge of practice in an acute care setting, preferred.
