- Performs a variety of professional medical services for inmates within SCDC, ensuring that each patient is properly cared for by the medical nursing team.
- Assists with planning and managing patient care according to patient' needs.
- Assists in providing direct clinical patient care, within scope of practice, as needed.
- Assist physicians with performing patient examinations, tests and procedures within clinic setting as needed.
- Records clear, concise, and accurate information pertaining to health/medica l history, vital signs and all treatments performed in the SCDC electronic health records computer database.
- Schedules patient appointments in the EHR.
- Gathers and maintains medical records documentation and filing patient information using the EHR.
- Performs administrative duties as needed.

SCDC minimum requirements:
A high school diploma or GED and experience as a nursing assistant. Current certification as a nursing assistant in the state of South Carolina at time of application. Must successfully complete specialized medication administration training through the SCDC Training Academy within 30 days of hire.
