Certified Medical Records Coder and Insurance Specialist 3 - 5 Yrs Exp.

We are searching for a full-time Certified MedicalRecords Coder and Insurance Specialist for our busy private surgery practice located in Murray. The practice is open Monday - Friday during regular business hours, no nights or weekend required.

Responsibilities Include:

Review and interpret Medical Records information to accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.

Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, excellent organization skills, and strong knowledge of Word & Excel.

Ensures coding compliance, responsible for understanding, and accurately applying national guidelines.

Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, surgical procedures, and physiological systems.

Collect, organize, and track medical services to ensure proper coding of all services performed.

Work closely with the physicians to ensure services are accurately documented and reported.

Verifying patient eligibility and benefits, calculate patient responsibility for services, and obtain insurance authorization for services.

Charge posting and Insurance billing.

Follow up on insurance claim denials and submit appeals.

Post insurance and patient payment , process patient and Insurance refunds.

Answer billing inquires for patients, providers and staff.

Qualification:

Must be dependable, honest, compassionate individual to work with our patients, providers and staff.

Two years minimum experience in medical billing, insurance, and collections,

Must hold current coding certification or be able to obtain certification within 1st 6 months of employment.

Knowledge of basic payer coding guidelines and policies.

Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Typing and 10 key by touch,

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook,

High School Diploma or equivalent.
