The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. The CMA has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ASC . The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician or registered nurse and reports to the ASC Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager. The CMA obtains vital signs, assists patient in preparation for examination/ procedure, records and documents in the medical record, ensures safe & efficient patient flow, administers medications and immunizations, and organizes the ASC environment to assure patient safety. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions at the highest level based on scope of practice.
Shift: Full Time, Day Shift
Onsite through orientiation and training. Then hybird.
Qualificiations:
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (NHA, AAMA)
- One of the following active Medical Assistant certifications: CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRMA
- Active CPR / BLS certification
