CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA)
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Primary Care Department at Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC), Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mid-South, located in Millington, TN, 38053
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education:Graduate from a Medical Assistant training program accredited by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists
- Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)
- Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
- Formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Registry of Medical Assistant (ARMA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Additional Certification: Must have current hands-on BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.
- U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
- English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required.
HOURS:
- Services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700 and 1600.
- Shifts will generally be scheduled for a 9-hour period and include an uncompensated 1-hour meal break.
- The HCW shall be on duty for 80 hours every 2 weeks, except during periods of approved leave and holidays.
- In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services (on-site service plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 80 hours in a 2-week period.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
