Responsible for answering phone, scheduling appointments, referrals, lab tests, x-rays as well as renewing prescriptions.Performs injections/immunizations upon physician order.Documents history in EHR as well as performing vitals.Maintains a clean, safe and stocked work area by following guidelines with infectious and hazardous waste.Assists physician as needed.May be assigned to specific medical specialty department (e.g., pediatrics).
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Certification/Registration as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification
Experience:
- Preferred experience working in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience. Committed to continuous learning for job enhancement. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and office equipment.
Education:
- Graduation from Accredited School or Certification from appropriate medical agency.
