General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for Medical Assistant duties for the Diagnostic Imaging department

Essential Functions:

• Work directly with physicians, clinical technologists and staff in the Diagnostic Imaging departments
• Rooming patients including obtaining vital signs, updating medications, updating patient history, and ensuring all EHR is current
• Assist physician with office procedures
• Check out patients according to the physician instructions and coordinate appointments
• Scheduling
• Insurance authorization for outpatient imaging services
• Chart prepping

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program with active RMA, CCMA, CMA, or NCMA certification is required
• Certified in BLS
• Minimum 2 year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting (Medical imaging experience is preferred)
• Demonstrate knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
• Knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
• Ability to build rapport with patients and staff
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bilingual preferred
