Certified Dental Assistant - Traveling | Mobile Dental Clinic (SC)

Palmetto Mobile Dental Centers (PMDC), and its management company, ExcelHealth Group, LLC, are seeking to fill an exciting and fulfilling traveling RDA position. PMDC is a dental company providing comprehensive dental care for residents of long-term care facilities. Our services are delivered via state-of-the-art Mobile Dental Clinics which arrive onsite each day at a different nursing home.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in both the dental and long-term care industries. Each clinic provides a small, inviting environment creating a safe space to deliver great care and on-the-job training experience.

Travel Frequency: Four (4) to five (5) days per week throughout the state.

Overnight Stays: This position frequently requires travel with overnight stays three (3) to four (4) nights per week.

Distance:Throughout the state

Travel Team: Includes a clinic manager, a Dental Assistant, and a patient transporter

Transportation: The clinic staff typically meets at a local designated location and travel together in a company vehicle as a team of three. The dentist generally arrives separately to the facilities.

• Candidates with radiographer certification preferred. Proof of certification from a recognized institution required by candidates claiming certification.
• Candidates with education must provide all diplomas from recognized accredited CODA or DANB institutions.
• As needed, may help transport residents in wheelchairs and geriatric chairs to and from the nursing facility to the dental unit which is typically parked right outside of the building in the parking lot.
• Selecting and setting up instruments, equipment and material needed for the Dentist to properly treat patients.
• Sterilizing instruments according to in-house policy and procedures and government or industry regulation.
• Paying attention to detail and maintaining a well-organized and reliable treatment environment.
• Possessing a desire to work with nursing home residents.
• Demonstrating concern for the patient’s well-being and an understanding of cultural sensitivity.
• Willingness and ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with facility staff and elderly patients.
• Assisting with clinic maintenance, cleaning, and sterilizing procedures.
• Punctuality and attentiveness to schedules and procedures.
• Flexibility with schedule.
• Reliable transportation to and from launch sites.

Compensation:

• Transportation, overnight hotel, and daily meal budget for travel directly tied to overnight stays are covered when traveling for company business.
• Paid windshield/traveling time
• Paid Time Off after 90 days
• Pay: $16 - $18 per hour
• FLSA status - Non-exempt, hourly
