Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Coding Specialist to join our Business Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes to all billable services provided by AHVI providers. The role demands a thorough understanding of coding guidelines, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Code and post all billable services performed by center providers in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Conduct thorough research to ensure accurate coding and billing processes.
- Investigate coding discrepancies and develop solutions while adhering to current guidelines, payer requirements, and AHVI policies.
- Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes along with appropriate modifiers.
- Address medical necessity denials by preparing and submitting appeals in a timely manner.
- Stay updated with coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize billing processes and ensure clean claim submissions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Some college, preferably with a focus on Medical Coding, Medical Terminology, and Basic Human Anatomy.
- Experience: At least two years of experience in a medical office environment with a strong emphasis on medical coding.
- Certification/License: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential from AAPC is required.
Skills and Abilities:

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Prolonged sitting with occasional bending, stooping, and stretching.

- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
- Work is primarily conducted in a busy office environment with frequent interaction with colleagues, patients, and external stakeholders.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
