Certification Engineer II - Electrical
Position Summary / Job Description:
The Certification Engineer II (Electrical) develops solutions to complex problems, which require ingenuity and innovation. Works according to established company and/or customer program guidelines. Exercises broad latitude in determining technical solutions; requires guidance from more experienced engineers and/or team members. Participates in product team activities. Supports the development of engineering processes, methods, and tools. Makes routine contacts with customers, diverse teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Applicant must be a US person, meaning a US citizen or a permanent resident.
Daily Activities include:
· Perform analysis and/or design reviews of Engineering drawings against Certification requirements in accordance with company and program guidelines.
· Assist in development and validating test plans, conformity requests, functional tests, compliance reports and electrical load analysis.
· Prepare certification documentation including certification plan, ground and flight test plans and certification reports showing avionics and electrical systems compliance with 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25.
· Support FAA and Foreign authorities in technical discussions on certification planning and/or issues.
· Support development and update of schedules for certification deliverables
Additional Activities may include:
· Facilitate gathering inputs for the scheduling tools with Engineering team members.
· Formulates and recommends corrective action measures for certification and/or technical issues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field. Equivalent level of work experience will be considered; with a minimum of 3 years electrical engineering experience.
Must have some FAA certification experience.
*Travel will be involved approximately 5% of the time.
Required Skills:
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Be a self-starter and handle multiple initiatives appropriately
· Strong written, verbal communication skills
· Experience with MS Office (Word/PowerPoint, Excel)
· Experience with CATIA
· Working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA)
Preferred Skills:
· Design knowledge of electrical bonding criteria, thermal cooling requirements for electrical equipment, EMI shielding, and High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) / Indirect Effects of lightening (IEL).
· Experience with viewing CATIA V5/V6 models.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
