SUMMARY:
The Centralized Litigation Support Specialist I works on a team of Specialists, supporting and collaborating with Branch Operations to manage accounts placed for legal action, for the purpose of increasing revenue, decreasing financial loss and reducing compliance/ regulatory risks. The Litigation Specialists support the flow of information between the branch and attorney along with supporting the maintenance of accounts in the system of record according to prescribed Lendmark policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily identification of company-wide legal accounts whose borrower(s) have filed for bankruptcy
  • Email notification to courts, attorneys and branch managers as appropriate, regarding bankruptcy matters on legal accounts
  • Monitoring for legal accounts that require paid-out documents to be sent to the borrower(s).
  • Documentation of Paid-Out Report showing accounts approved or denied for paid-out docs.
  • Receipt, review and response to helpdesk tickets and internal/external emails regarding legal accounts
  • Conduct legal docket searches, research county and court databases, review law summaries
  • Conduct account research on Lendmark's system of record to provide status information, payment histories, contact info, etc.
  • Administration and Updating of legal accounts in assigned states/branches following prescribed Lendmark policies and procedures
  • Create email folders for newly placed legal accounts
  • Administer account flagging and coding identifiers
  • Receipt and review of attorneys' Status Reports and update legal accounts accordingly
  • Coordinate signature and return of documents to attorney
  • Scan and save signed documents on network
  • Coordinate court appearances as necessary with branch with branch responsible for attending
  • Receipt, review and submit invoices to Concur for processing
  • Process attorney remittance/payment reports with account ledger (payment posting), reconciling according to Lendmark policies and guidelines
  • Review charged-off legal accounts to validate legal flag, confirm judgments and identify garnishment opportunities
  • Manages risk relative to position
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED from accredited institution
  • Understanding and utilization of legal terminology and concepts
  • 0-2 years of relevant industry experience (civil litigation and consumer finance)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to contribute to team efforts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to utilize internet search engines to conduct appropriate research

Compensation:
  • The salary range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Experience of the selected candidate.
  • This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Traditional Office Environment
  • Overtime and weekend hours may be required due to seasonal or month-end needs or as requested
