TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary varies based on education level and (directly related) work experience.
- Full-time employment equivalent to 12 Months/225 work days (Work Calendar A).

- Full-time employees receive benefits to include:

- This is an on-site position with eligibility for temporary telework based on eligible criteria noted in the Employee Handbook and prior approval by the Supervisor;
- For positions outside Maricopa County, travel and overnight stay could be required for participation in district-level, onsite professional development, training, and meetings at designated locations within the Greater Phoenix area. (Compensation will be provided for travel, food, and lodging).
JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the Central Enrollment Specialist at Student Choice High School serves alongside leadership and staff as a champion for students needing wrap-around services and an alternative pathway to their high school diploma. This is a dynamic individual who understands alternative education and who strongly advocates for underprivileged and under-served youth and young adults. Utilizing the National Alternative Education Association’s Exemplary Practices as the standard for excellence, the Central Enrollment Specialist promotes and enhances the overall mission, vision, and culture of the organization; engages in professional development and program evaluation with all stakeholders to foster continuous improvement; adheres to all policies and procedures benefiting the success of the organization and all stakeholders; and performs tasks in the development and continuous implementation of a high school program, which promotes the educational well-being of each student in the school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides customer service by greeting guests, responding to requests for information from parents, students, staff, and/or the general public; and communicating district policies and procedures;
- Is educated about Student Choice High School (SCHS) in order to share accurate information with all stakeholders;
- Contact prospective students for enrollment;
- Helps coordinate/oversee student enrollment(s) and student record(s) for multiple campuses;
- Works closely with the Central Enrollment Specialist Coordinator to ensure district processes and procedures are accomplished accurately and effectively; and
- Collects and manages records/documents for the district and state-level auditing;
- Oversees and executes a variety of routine clerical duties, including filing, faxing, and making copies; answering and transferring phone calls, entering data into Google, the School’s Student Information System, and/or performing all other related activities;
- Schedules student/family intake meetings with Campus Principals and Administrative Assistants;
- Supports the philosophy, core values, mission, and vision of Student Choice;
- Works as part of a collaborative District team and projects collegiality and ability to inspire trust; and
- Performs all other duties and attends all meetings, as assigned.
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Provide positive customer service to inquiring students, families, schools, etc. Applicants must be comfortable operating a computer and related software applications, e.g., Google, Tyler SIS, and Filing; Keyboarding; Faxing; Scanning; and Communicating.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
- Strong professional written, verbal /communication, and phone etiquette skills; applicants must understand/utilize how to properly format email, phone, and written communication responses;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to prioritize deadlines;
- Enjoys being a team player; and
- One year of general office or basic customer service experience, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Desirable:
- Bilingual - Spanish and English.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Must have or be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work.
