St Joseph Cemetery is a Catholic Cemetery in Appleton, WI. dedicated to providing a beautiful and peaceful resting place for the faithfully departed. We have 25 acres of developed land and 12 acres of undeveloped land.

```Job Summary:```

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Caretaker to join our team. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the property grounds and gardens. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of landscaping, operation of equipment and groundskeeping techniques.

```Duties:```

- Perform regular landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging lawns

-Open and close graves with backhoe and by hand

-Develop new sections of the cemetery and layout graves

- Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees

- Use hand tools and power tools to complete various landscaping tasks

- Irrigate lawns and gardens as needed

- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor spaces by removing debris and litter

- Assist with the installation of new landscaping features, markers and monument foundations

- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and stored

-Supervise seasonal employees

-Other duties as assigned

```Qualifications:```

-Must pass a background check

-Previous experience in heavy equipment operation, landscape maintenance or groundskeeping preferred

- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in landscaping and the burial process

- Ability to operate irrigation systems effectively

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions

- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

-High school diploma

-Valid Wisconsin driver's license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
