The Cell Pilot Line (CPL) is looking for a technician who will be responsible for small scale manual electrode fabrication tasks. Secondary duties may include small cell assembly work and /or supporting pilot process activities. This candidate will have a background in bench-top mixing and coating of small scale batches (less than 200g) and bench-top paste coating onto sheets of metal foils. Ideal candidate will also have experience with electrode calendering, electrode die cutting and electrode cleaning processes. Other desirable skills include coin cell and single layer pouch cell assembly. Familiarity with pilot scale equipment for the manufacture of lithium ion cells would be a plus.
Key Qualifications

• Manual slurry mixing and coating experience using bench-top orbital mixer, stirrers and single side paste coater is required.
• Must be comfortable wearing PPE and working in a fume hood.
• Electrode cleaning, die punching and cutting
• Strong attention to detail
• Must have good manual dexterity
• Familiarity with proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices such a 5S,
Must be able to work independently and as part of a diverse team.

Description
Manually weigh various materials (powders, liquids) according to given formulations and perform slurry mixing Execute slurry paste coating, ensuring accurate coating weights and quality. Calculate active material loading and electrode density. Prepare electrodes for assembly (calendering, cleaning, punching, weighing, tab welding) Cell assembly (coin / pouch) and pilot support as needed
Education & Experience
High school graduate with minimum 8 years related experience.

The base pay range for this role is between $42.85 and $76.15/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
