Description:

The Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of health equity and disparities in Cancer care. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in hematology and/or oncology.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, graduate students, residents, and fellows as well as advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and their trainees. Additionally, the successful will be expected to provide education, mentorship, and research support to hematology/oncology fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include care of patients with solid tumors, hematological malignancies or patients with non-malignant hematology disorders as appropriate for the applicant's background and experience. Selected candidates will see patients in an outpatient setting and as an attending on the inpatient service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP).

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include focusing on identifying and reducing Cancer Disparities, as defined by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Penn invites applicants with the above interest and qualifications within the disciplines of hematology or medical oncology. Successful candidates will demonstrate a productive track record during post-doctoral research training with an ability to perform collaborative interdisciplinary science. Selected candidates will be expected to establish an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from governmental agencies, private foundations, and industry. Additional responsibilities will include clinical activity and teaching within the PENN provider network, as well as participation as an active member of Penn Graduate Programs based on his/her research focus.
