***Seeking CDL Semi Drivers for local intermodal runs***
You will do local intermodal runs in our trucks as a **1099 contract driver**. Runs are paid on a percentage basis for each load run once the company gets paid for your loads, which is usually about a two week delay.
If you run up to $3500 worth of loads in a week, you get 35% of all loads you pulled that week.
If you run between $3500 and $5000 worth of loads in a week, you get 38% of all loads you pulled that week.
If you run over $5000 worth of loads in a week, you get 40% of all loads you pulled that week.
You get 1% of your trucks profits quarterly.
The more loads you run, the more money you will make.
***This position requires two weeks training, and pay is $100/day for the initial training period***
These are intermodal runs, almost all of which are overweight loads, and are currently no more than 150 miles from Joliet. All trucks are based in Joliet and all drivers are home every night.
Expectations:
You will need to examine containers and chassis to ensure that the chassis is road legal and that the container is suitable for export. This involves opening the container and verifying that the container doesn't have a foreign smell, is free of debris and has no light/water/foreign substances on the floor.
Hours are variable and driver should anticipate early mornings to get containers pulled and be at facilities ready to load.
Driver should anticipate working in various weather conditions.
Experience:
Must have valid CDL
Prefer if you have 2 years experience driving CDL semis
Higher consideration will go to candidates with intermodal experience.
