CDL Flatbed Truck Driver

Description:

Driving CDL flat bed truck to installation areas for a leading fence manufacturer in the Portland area. This company has steady work and has been established for over 100 years. Consistent work and hours with no layoffs.

CDL A Driver/ Material Handler/ Load Builder

1. Drives in a safe manner and within compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations. Maintains Class A, CDL license and acceptable driving record.

2. Performs “last mile” drops at customer locations and ensures load is correct according to paperwork before departing.

3. Maintains vehicles and equipment and properly completes reports including pre- and post-trip checklists. Works with manager to arrange repairs noted or schedule for service with outside vendor.

4. Works with Load Builder to properly review and secure load prior to departure.

5. Loads and unloads trucks for vendors and customers using a sit-down forklift or by hand.

This position is typically Monday through Friday with working hours between 8:00am-5:00pm with opportunities for overtime.

Pay:$31-35/hr DOE

Full Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO

Typically dayshift M-F home every night.

Skills:

-Load and unload truck using equipment as needed.

-Strap down and make sure product is secure prior to travel.

-Adhere to all driving laws as applicable.

-Clean MVR record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Ability to do overnights. Some deliveries bay be far enough in the PNW to necessitate an overnight, paid by employer with hotel and per diem.

•This position may require out of town overnight routes (no more than 3 nights per week or 2 nights in a row).
