We are seeking a full time CDL Driver - Yard Driver to:
- Drive tractor trailer with a capacity of more than three tons and usually with more than six wheels to transport materials to and from specified destinations
- Operate shuttles to move trailers between staging area and various loading dock doors
- Receive instructions via radio and perform trailer shuttling to accommodate logistical needs
- Perform daily maintenance checks of shuttle truck and report any malfunctions to the garage
- Fuel the yard truck as needed
- Couple and uncouple tractor trailer units
- Connect and disconnect brake lines as needed
- Perform safety inspections of the trailer according to DOT regulations
- Pull product for customer orders
- Properly mark product shortage adjustments on paperwork
- Ensure proper code date rotation
- Report any product/packaging issues
- Identify opportunities to improve process
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area
- Reports any food safety and/or quality issues to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
You would be great for this role if you:
- Possess and can maintain a CDL A license
- Able to drive standard and automatic trucks
- Have a clean abstract/MVR
- Have basic math skills
- Can stand, walk, push, pull, and climb into and out of trailers virtually the entire shift
- Can lift up to 50 pounds frequently and manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high
- Have pallet jack, stand up, and/or sit down forklift experience or certification
- Can work inside or outside in all weather conditions
- Can work in environments with moderate noise
- Are okay with occasionally being exposed to cleaning chemicals
- Can work effectively in a team environment
- Can work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends, and holidays
