CDL CLASS B HAZMAT DELIVERY DRIVER & DISTRIBUTION SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview: The role of the Solvent Direct Hazmat Delivery Driver entails the timely, precise, and secure delivery of hazardous materials. Additionally, this position encompasses warehouse responsibilities such as loading, unloading, inventory management, pallet securing, sorting, and proficiency in forklift operation. It is imperative that the candidate maintains a high degree of self-direction and possesses a strict understanding of company policies, procedures, and values. Team members are expected to strictly adhere to all safety protocols across various work environments.

Job Duties:
Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle in accordance with DOT and company maintenance checklists to ensure it is safe for operation.
Loading and Unloading: Use forklifts and other tools to load fleet trucks and third-party freight carriers with products/materials as required.
Documentation: Maintain proper documentation related to DOT, local regulations, and company requirements. Ensure all documents are completed accurately and on time.
Safety: Adhere to all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment. This includes handling hazardous materials safely and complying with federal, state, and local laws related to safe driving.
Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that the truck is in proper working order, perform routine maintenance, and address any malfunctioning equipment promptly. Report issues to the Dispatcher and Branch Manager.
Driver's License: Maintain the appropriate driver's license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, if required for the transportation of hazardous materials.
Dispatch and Inventory Management: Load trucks, stage products, complete load sheets, and follow company dispatch policies. Handle shipping and receiving of inventory and orders. Prepare and verify shipping documents.
Warehouse Operations: Operate a forklift to handle products and materials in the warehouse. Organize and arrange products and materials within the warehouse. Maintain inventory records and documentation.
Packaging: Pack, count, and shrink-wrap LP cylinders for outbound shipment.
Inventory Management: Conduct daily inventory checks and maintain production documentation.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety procedures and practices within the warehouse at all times. Safely load, unload, and manage inventory as directed by supervisors.
Travel: Occasionally, overnight travel may be required for this position.
Other Duties: Be prepared to perform additional duties as assigned by the company from time to time.
Driver Qualifications: To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the past 4 years or driving school training
- CDL with HAZMAT endorsements.
- Clean MVR (no moving violations)
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience handling compressed gasses, preferred
- Basic Computer Knowledge. Print invoices, record inventory on cloud systems
- Must be able to use cell phones applications

- Operates with a strong safety orientation. Uses all protective equipment all the time, follows SOPs, and manages risks so that incidents are prevented.
- Able to lift and carry heavy hoses, fittings, and other equipment. Able to crawl underneath as well as climb on top of rail cars and tankers. Able to stand for long periods.
- High level of initiative. Takes the lead in making improvements to the operation and in getting things fixed as they break down.
- Personable. Represents the company as a professional at all times. Is the face of the company at customer locations.
Physical Work Conditions
- Drive an enclosed truck on a daily basis.
- Work outdoors while loading and unloading goods. Work indoors while driving or filling out paperwork. Indoor temperatures may not be controlled.
- Potential for exposure to contaminants, such as diesel fuel or exhaust.
- Wear protective or safety attire on a weekly basis.
- Sometimes are exposed to hot or cold temperatures while working outside.
- Are sometimes exposed to hazardous situations that might produce minor cuts or scrapes.
- Are occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions.
- Are occasionally exposed to whole body vibration when driving a truck.
- Work close to others, especially when unloading trucks.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
