SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Delivery Driver is to deliver, merchandise, and service accounts in the assigned route, while maintaining the quality of our products and promoting a safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent Caffey Distributing Company/Carolina Premium Beverage in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist Delivery Manager and Area Delivery Managers in promotion of safe work practices to include frequent behavior-based safety observations.
- Is familiar with specific routes.
- Is familiar with and certified to use all types of delivery equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, docks and dock-levelers, hand trucks, trucks and trailers per Caffey Distributing and Carolina Premium Beverage. and OSHA standards.
- Maintain a friendly, working relationship with the Manager on each account on all routes in assigned area.
- Listen to and resolve service complaints.
- Confer with Area Delivery Managers to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations.
- Prepare invoice, collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.
- Check in product with Store Manager, following store policy.
- Restock and rotate displays, coolers, and cold box with new product/existing products.
- Responsible for adhering to Overage Beer Policy.
- Clean inside of truck and trailer bays. Perform routine maintenance on truck and complete the FMCSR approved inspection report daily.
- Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.
- Check in with office daily and follow-up on messages and pages promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of sales trends and history of accounts.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
- Adhere to dress code, including safety non-negotiables,” and be properly groomed at all times.
- Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
