A2Z Trucking Academy is seeking to hire experienced and highly qualified CDL Class “A” instructors. A2Z Trucking Academy’s goal is to produce well-trained, knowledgeable, and safe entry-level truck drivers. We are committed to providing a strong curriculum emphasizing practical, usable skills in a caring environment with personal attention and close instructor-student interaction.
As an instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality training to our students. This includes classroom, hands-on range training and over the road instruction. You will be responsible for evaluating student progress, documentation, and providing feedback to ensure that students are developing the necessary skills to become safe and responsible drivers.
A2Z’s classes run Monday to Thursday, 7 am to 6 pm.
Essential duties include:
- Prepare students to take the commercial driver’s license examination, through classroom, range and over the road training
- Promote and maintain a positive, safe learning environment
- Communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and student needs
- Maintain daily attendance sheet and logs
- Keep up to date with DOT regulations and changes
- Model safe behaviors and professional interactions with all students
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education / Experience / Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years on-the-road experience driving a commercial motor vehicle within the last 5 years
• Classroom/vehicle training experience preferred
• Valid and unexpired CDL Class A and current DOT medical card
• Ability to pass DOT drug tests upon hire and on ongoing basis
• Acceptable driving record
Other Qualifications and Skills:
• Comprehensive knowledge CDL requirements and equipment; DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Ability to maintain accurate records, organize data, and to prepare reports
• Computer applications related to the work
• Demonstrate exceptional driving skills
• Demonstrate outstanding instructional skills
• Demonstrate patience and friendly attitude
• Ability to be flexible
