Cattle Manager

Welcome to Swerczek Farms! We’re a family owned and operated cattle farm in Eastern Nebraska. Our cow-calf herd is approximately 500 head and we’re hiring a Cattle Manager to join our team in Cedar Rapids, NE (about an hour northeast of Grand Island, NE). In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day cattle operations on the farm. We pride ourselves on providing a very family-oriented working environment. We live by working hard when it’s time to work but also prioritize time off and time to disconnect to re-focus and re-boot.

What you will be doing:
Daily feeding and management of home-raised feeder calves.
Doctoring and determining pen management.
Oversee the spring calving season.
Oversee summer pasture management and movement.
During the fall, assisting with cornstalk fence and hauling hay.
Operating farm and agriculture equipment such as tractors.
Assisting on all areas of the farm when needed.
This job is for you if you have:
Prior cattle farm – ranch experience.
Prior farm, agriculture, and heavy equipment operating experience.
Great work ethic and honesty.
Outstanding communication skills both written and oral.
All around appreciation of the agricultural and ranching industry.
Ability to work well in both an individual and team setting.
