Responsibilities & Requirements
The Cath Lab Billing Specialist is responsible for coding and abstracting the outpatient and inpatient procedural records at Kettering Health's Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology labs using ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding rules, federal guidelines and Kettering Health guidelines. This individual is responsible for transforming the complex narratives within these high acuity procedural areas into the codes and designations that are recognized by all national payor entities. In addition to these duties, the Cath Lab Billing Specialist will act as a live-service resource for Cardiologists when Professional billing and coding questions arise. This individual will need a strong clinical foundation in Cath lab operations. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- RN or RT with at least two years' experience in a level I, II, or III Cardiac Cath or Electrophysiology Lab.
RNs:
- Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
RTs:
- Radiology Angiographic technologist must be a graduate of an ASRT approved school of radiology technology. Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology preferred
- Certified by the ARRT in diagnostic radiology technology
- Current radiologic licensure in the state of Ohio
