Catering Manager
Position Summary: The Director of Catering will specialize in operational aspects of preparing and servicing private and club events. Works well with all departments to assure that the guest's and member's expectations are exceeded. The Director of Catering must enjoy building relationships within the community, and be passionate about ensuring an overall service experience- from the time of first inquiry, through the final toast at an event. With referrals being a key component of membership, the Catering Manager will be the social hub for the club and the face around the community.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Responsibilities of the Position:
1. Promotes the Club's event facilities to both Members and guests.
2. Organizes club events, banquets (Member and non-member,) luncheons, meetings, weddings, and other social or corporate events.
3. Provides tours to potential clients, and offers suggestions in an effort to sell the merits of the Club's facilities for the occasion being planned.
4. Works with the Executive Chef to determine menu offerings and prices for catered events.
5. Creates and develops contracts to secure event bookings.
6. Provides advanced detailed information to culinary staff, food and beverage managers, and serving staff for event planning by creating and distributing banquet event orders and creating floor plans based on client needs.
7. Assists in setup and final details and inspections of finished room arrangements based on banquet event orders; must be present to greet client at beginning of event, and oversee the actual service of an event through the entirety of event.
8. Will be responsible for building the event staff roster and scheduling staff for all events.
9. Will handle any event related food and beverage issues.
10. Maintains past and potential client files, schedules calls/visits to assess the on-going needs of prospective clients for catering services.
11. Posts all event related accounting in the proper system in a timely manner.
12. Creates Profit & Loss statements for each member event.
13. Handles any operational issues in a professional manner.
14. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years hotel/restaurant or private club service experience in a management related capacity with progressive growth and responsibility in the restaurant/private club field preferred, but not required.
  • Great attitude and highly self-motivated.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs and stand on feet for extended period of time.
  • Front of House and Sales experience a plus.
  • Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.

Hours & Compensation Salary Range - Open with individual's qualification
•This is a fulltime (year round) salaried position with benefits in accordance with the job.
•Schedule is subject to change based on club events and hours of operations.
