The primary responsibility of the Catering Coordinator is to support and assist Catering and Special Events department in daily administrative duties. This function will be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices, and procedures and within the framework and intent of ARK Las Vegas standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for interacting with NY-NY staff, guests, clients, and associates to ensure excellent guest service and to communicate the goals of the department.
- Must be an organized, personable and enthusiastic individual that can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Reconcile guest billing and log sales information.
- Receive incoming calls and respond to guest inquiries.
- Handle guest and associate requests.
- Maintain various tracking and filing systems.
- Act as a liaison between departments.
- Communicates all changes/updates related to event/banquet orders to applicable departments.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Ensure that rules and regulations in the employee handbook are always adhered to.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires mobility and prolonged standing.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure and effectively deal with guests, management, and employees in all situations.
NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read, write, and speak verbally in English with management, employees and guests.
- Possess the ability to perform basic math skills.
- Maintain skill in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
- Be a team-oriented individual who enjoys working with and serving customers.
- Perception and awareness of customer needs and ability to understand questions, and instructions from supervisors and co-workers.
- Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed to accommodate events.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred experience in high volume Banquet Operation.
- Organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
- Experience in dealing with customers.
- ·High school education or equivalent.
