Job description

 

The Category Management plays a pivotal role in synthesizing complex analytical tasks into compelling data-driven stories contributing to the optimization of procurement and sourcing strategies. The Analyst is responsible for developing and presenting financial analysis leading RFx activities (RFIs RFQs RFPs) on behalf of Category Managers supporting strategic RFPs with analytics and financial models analyzing market trends and fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive effective Category Management initiatives. This role is responsible for working across diverse categories and participating in all phases of the Category Management life cycle.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Supply Chain Management or a related field is required. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools. Advanced Excel capabilities are a must.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of data analytics experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex data-driven insights clearly and collaborate across diverse teams. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Capacity to develop innovative strategies and solutions creative problem solver. Proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and contribute to the procurement team. Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity while deeply understanding business needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Collaborates with various departments including procurement finance accounting and operations to ensure alignment of Category Management initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Leads and coordinates category roadmap discussions and engagement with Category Managers to establish the category baselining for critical categories.
  • Collects the raw data cleans the data to prepare it for analysis; interprets the results of the analysis and recommend appropriate course of action.
  • Maintains data integrity timeliness of data input and accuracy of data.
  • Creates and presents category financial reviews providing unbiased analysis interpretation and recommendations for improving category performance based on product/service vendor benchmarking should-cost modeling market research and category trends.
  • Prepares the category materials for Category reviews ensuring accuracy and optimization of our data as well as supporting ongoing project work as we develop new category strategies to advance our business in partnership with our valued supplier partners
  • Develops and implements assorted bid documents and requests (i.e. RFI RFP RFQ); manages status reporting and performance metrics of sourcing activities for strategic vendors.
  • Leads RFx activities (RFIs RFQs RFPs) on behalf of Category Managers and/or support strategic RFPs with analytics and financial models.
  • Evaluates analyses of sourcing results from a total cost of ownership perspective and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Identifies opportunities for savings process improvements and transformation within assigned categories.
  • Troubleshoots problems and researches causes of cost/price variances.
  • Responsible for continued improvement of existing reports and models to increase business efficiencies.
  • Monitors and analyzes competitor’s strategies and products.
  • Monitors and manages contract/program compliance making recommendations for adjustments or improvements as needed.
  • Gains deep understanding of all aspects of Aimbridge third party spend and associated spend channels (e.g. Birch Street JDE pCard T&E Card).
  • Support project work as requested by the Category Managers and Leadership Teams.
