COMPANY OVERVIEW
L&R is the largest distributor and the 6th largest purchaser of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA, and more) through 3 regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey, and Nevada. 
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB 
The Category Development Administrator is a pivotal support role in the organization by contributing to the efficient operation of the category management function. This position involves administrative tasks, data management, and coordination to assist the Category Development Manager and ensure the successful execution of category strategies. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and maintaining category data, including sales figures, market share, and competitor information. 
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for category performance analysis. 

  • Support data-driven decision-making by generating insights and identifying trends. 

  • Manage scheduling, appointments, and correspondence for the Category Development Manager. 

  • Coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas and minutes. 

  • Handle travel arrangements, expense reports, and other administrative tasks as needed. 

  • Maintain accurate records of category-related documents, contracts, and agreements. 

  • Prepare and distribute reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with company policies. 

  • Assist in tracking product inventory levels and coordinating with Supply Chain teams. 

  • Monitor product availability and assist in resolving inventory-related issues. 

  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to manage product listings and updates. 

  • Act as a liaison between the Category Development Manager and cross-functional teams. 

  • Facilitate communication and information sharing to ensure seamless execution of category initiatives. 

  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external partners in a timely and professional manner. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Previous experience in administrative or data management roles, preferably within the consumer-packed goods industry. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

  • A basic understanding of category management concepts is a plus. 

 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (If applicable) 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant certification a plus. 

 
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS 

  • Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
