Cashier/Stocker (Part-Time)

This includes, scratch and dent, overstock, customer returns, and salvage consumer products. Job Description

Beginning the beginning of January 2024, the Cashier & Stocker positions will be responsible for setting up the sales floor for the new Big Deal Outlet store located in Midvale, Utah! You will be responsible for moving and organizing both shelving and inventory. You will also help with deep cleaning the location.

Upon the store opening, you will move to your permanent role. The Cashier/Stocker is responsible for receiving payments and issuing receipts, as well as keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate is preferred. This position is also responsible for helping to unload trucks and stock the store shelves. The best candidate for this position will be an individual who enjoys working independently and quickly.

What You Will Do:

Store Setup

• Load and unload trucks
• Cleaning
• Assemble and move shelving
• Organize and distribute product as it is received
• Stock shelves and sales floor
• All other duties as assigned

Cashier & Stocker

• Receive payments from customers and issue receipts
• Track and balance all cash and credit transactions within the respective cash register
• Interact with customers to understand needs or answer any questions
• Count money
• Operate cash register
• Use computer to work
• Answer customer questions
• Unload product from truck containers
• Keep the store shelves stocked with product from the Warehouse
• Continuous rotation of store merchandise, both warehouse and retail store
• Maintain and organized sales floor
• Assist customers with questions
• Back up to Cashier as needed
• Some janitorial duties
• Stock the Sales Floor
• All other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience setting up a new retail store or stocking experience is a plus
• Basic computer knowledge and math skills
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Proven history of honesty and integrity

What You Will Experience:

Work is generally performed in a retail store environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand or sit for long periods of time

• Feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
• Move objects up to 10 lbs. (Must be able to frequently move/lift objects up to 25 lbs. in weight. May occasionally move/lift an object up to 50 lbs. in weight)
