Cashier Job Responsibilities:
- Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
- Registers sales on a point of sales computerized register.
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
- Help merchandise the front cafeteria area
- Must be able to work with others and interact with students.
- Must be competent in working on all computers, email, and operating a cash register.
- Must comply with dress code as designated by the Food Service Department.
- Physical demands include continuous lifting, standing, manual dexterity, walking, handling, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- With the occasional need for climbing and squatting.
- The cashier must be able to: * Work under the direction of the assigned school Head of Kitchen.
- Balances cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of the work shift.
- Help students with service.
- Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Help with some light preparation of food items in the retail area.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- 1 year of cash handling experience desired.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Readily adjusts schedule, tasks, and priorities when necessary to meet business needs
- Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.
- Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting up to 40lbs, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Basic Computer Skills/ Point of Sales.
- Understanding of sanitation standards.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Always present a positive and professional image in customer service.
