Cash Poster - Billing

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Cash Poster to join the billing team!

In this role you will perform the following takes/duties:  Processing electronic and manual remittance transactions posting to the correct transaction codes, posting complex payments to appropriate accounts. This position is also responsible for reconciling cash transactions, third party remittances, and credit card payments. Performs various duties in support of the Accounts Payable and the Patient Accounts department including posting and reconciling all payments, adjustments and denials in the health information systems, running reports, retrieving patient payment files, and reconciling daily bank deposits and balance all cash postings to the bank control totals. This position requires critical thinking, independent judgement, and the ability to work under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable customer service.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English.
• Demonstrated experience in a medical business office, medical records, accounts receivable.
• Demonstrated computer skills in utilizing word processing, integrated database and other functions.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize and understand mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use office machines and telephone systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, customer service and telephone etiquette.
• Previous experience in a medical office setting, knowledge of third party billing, and experience with accounts receivable is preferred
