The UNM Bookstore is seeking a student employee to assistwith daily cash room duties. The successful candidate must have reliableavailability from 8am-12pm Monday-Friday during semesters and during intersessionsand breaks. Previous cash handling experience required along with greatattention to detail.
The selected candidate for this position will preparecash receipts for bank deposit, prepare daily cash reports, and balance cashdrawers-reconciling cash, check, credit card, university charge receiptsdaily-and investigate and resolve any out-of-balance problems. The candidatewill maintain confidentiality of university and student records as well asperform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred QualificationsA successful backgroundcheck will be required to process this hire.
- Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedure.
- Ability to calculatenumbers, correct entries, and post to records.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Attention to detail.
- Account balancing skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.
- Knowledge of computerizedinformation systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.
