Position Overview:
As a Casework Engineer, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and specifications for custom casework and millwork projects. You will work closely with our sales, production, and installation teams to ensure that all projects are engineered accurately and efficiently according to client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare engineering designs and plans using CAD software.
- Coordinate with project managers to gather all necessary project information for design development.
- Produce detailed shop drawings for manufacturing, including elevations, plans, sections, and details.
- Perform material take-offs and prepare cutting lists.
- Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot any potential design problems before and during fabrication.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Assist in the development of new product lines and custom solutions.
- Provide technical support to sales and production teams as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Wood Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Casework Engineering or a similar role within the woodworking industry.
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mozaik, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
