Summary:  The Carpenter/Tradesperson (IHT) plays a critical role on the reconstruction team. This person delivers exceptional customer service by completing carpentry/construction work in homes and businesses.  The IHT meets formally on a weekly basis with reconstruction project managers and coordinators to track the successful completion of work and plan work for the following week.  The IHT uses his/her time effectively to purchase job materials leading to the efficiently completing the assigned work.  He/she makes individual and job site safety a priority in completing the assigned work.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent the Paul Davis principles of honesty and integrity
  • Perform finish carpentry and other construction-related work
  • Be knowledgeable on building products, new products, building technologies, etc.
  • Keep an eye out for safety concerns when on-site at losses
  • Communicate with Management and all internal/external Customers
  • Follow & enforce established safety practices including proper use of PPE, when required
  • Other related activities as requested by project managers
  • Provide excellent Customer service
  • Maintain efficiency of production, i.e. store trips, driving efficiencies, work produced by day
  • All work will be performed according to company policies & procedures aligning with the Mission, Goals, and Values of Paul Davis Restoration.
  • All work will be performed in accordance with the laws and regulations in the jurisdiction(s) in which Paul Davis Restoration operates.
  • All work will be performed in accordance with safety regulations pertaining to this work.
  • All communication with customers will be informative and courteous.
  • Employees will behave in a professional and mature manner when representing the Paul Davis; NO profanity, NO horseplay, etc.
  • Company equipment and vehicles will be kept neat, clean, and in working order at all times.
  • Employees will ALWAYS wear a company uniform in good repair when representing the company

Requirements/Experience:

  • 2 years or more in related position
  • Painting, carpentry, and maintenance skills
  • Ability to plan and organize workload
  • Ability to exercise judgement
  • Ability to work independently when needed
  • Ability to make decisions independently when needed
  • Ability to reach out for assistance when needed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing

Physical Demands:

  • Lift (constantly) 5-40 lbs., lift (frequently) 20-100 lbs.
  • May involve significant stand/walk/ push/pull.
  • Occasional climbing (ladders, etc.), balancing, crouching, frequent stooping, reaching, kneeling, and handling.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to weather with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat.
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud from occasional to frequent.
